Beijing Olympics Bike Tours
We offer Beijing Olympics bike tours that allow you to discover the historical, political, social and most modern sides of Beijing. Indeed, bike tours full of polarized contrasts, just like China itself... Starting from Jingshan Park, going down south to Tiananmen Square, through traditional urban dwellings (hutongs) around the Forbidden City, to the Houhai Lakes and further north to the cutting edge National Stadium aka the "Bird's Nest Stadium" and the "Water Cube."
Start off the tour at the lush Jingshan Park and then head down south to Tianmen Square. A core symbol of Chinese communism, it will more than likely impress you whether it be because of the imposing portrait of Mao Zedong, the number of people that may be there contemplating the 5 starred flag, or simply its sheer size. You will then ride around the ancient Forbidden City alongside its waters once used to protect the residing Emperor and his dozens of concubines. Then ride through traditional Chinese urban houses, hutongs seeing how local Beijingers live, followed by a ride around the now hip area of Houhai Lake, which once was an imperial garden.

The trek continues 18 km up north to the National Stadium aka the "Bird's Nest Stadium." With 91,000 seats this will be the venue for major Olympic events such as the opening and closing ceremonies and the football (soccer) final. After the National Stadium we will ride to the National Swimming Center aka the "Water Cube" which can seat 17,000. The center will be used for swimming, diving, synchronized swimming and water-polo games during the Olympic Games. It is dubbed "cube" because of its semi-transparent "bubbles" which spread out all over its surface making it look very much like water...
