Day 1You will be picked up at the airport and taken to your hotel/accommodation. We will then have a welcome Beijing Duck dinner at Beijing's famous "Li Qun" restaurant which is cozily located in the in the traditional hutong alleys surrounding Tiananmen Square.Day 2Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City, The Summer Palace, Peking University CampusVisit Tiananmen Square, considered the heart and soul of the nation and which can fit over a million people. Next is the impressive Forbidden City aka the Imperial Palace, built almost 600 years ago and having over 10,000 rooms. Following this is a visit to the Summer Palace, the largest and most complete imperial garden existing in China with an area of 304 hectares built in the 12th century. Trip to Peking University, aka Bei Da, one of China's most prestigious institutions. Established during the Qing Dynasty, its architecture is rather unique in Beijing. Day 3Temple of Heaven, hutong tour bike tour, Houhai, Lama Temple, Guo Zi Jian, Nan Luo Gu Xiang Hutong, free activity, optional rickshaw tour (instead of cycling), Optional ShowsTrip to the Temple of heaven which was built 600 years ago and used by emperors to worship the Gods. Once forbidden to "commoners" it is now open to everyone. Bike tour through the traditional Beijing dwellings, Hutongs. This will allow you see the Beijing traditional way of life. Houhai - once a former Imperial lake, this place is now extremely lively. A visit to the Lama Temple, the biggest in Beijing, follows. Extremely interesting influence of Tibetan architecture. Next you will go to the bohemiam area of Beijing, full of cafes and laid back restaurants, Nan Luo Gu Xiang.
