Day 1/2
Train ride from Beijing to Lhasa - 47 hours trip on the world highest railway, you will cross Xian and run through the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, , reaching an altitude of 3,641 meters. The landscape throughout this journey is breath-taking.
Day 3
The Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street
The Potala Palace - morning visit to the Potala Palace which was built in the 7th century.
Jokhang Temple - extremely tranquil 1300 year old temple.
Barkhor Street - here you will be fascinated by the variety of clothing worn by people, all ethnic minorities coming from the outlying areas of the Tibetan region. Many antique stores in this ancient town.
Day 4
Lhasa/ Yamddok YumTso (nature reserve island)/ Lhasa
Early morning transfer to Yamddok Yum Tso, one of the three biggest islands in Tibet which is home to flocks of wild ducks, goose and other birds.
Day 5
Norbulingka (Summer Palace), Sangmu Village
Norbulingka - built in 1756 very near a medical spring outside Lhasa. It is the spring and summer residence of the Dalai Lamas as they leave the Potala Palace during this period.
Sangmu Village - a chance to know the Tibetan countryside lifestyle. Overnight stay at Lhasa.
