9 Day Tibet Travel9 Day Tibet Travel - All the way to the Everest Base Camp. Once in Lhasa spend some time there and in other areas in Tibet such as visit the Yamdrotso Lake, the third largest holy lake in Tibet. Spend 2 days at the Everest Base Camp and then transfer to Beijing by plane from Lhasa.
Days 1/2Train ride from Beijing to Lhasa - 47 hours trip on the world highest railway, you will cross Xian and run through the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, , reaching an altitude of 3,641 meters. The landscape throughout this journey is breath-taking.Day 3Potala Palace-Jokhang Temple-Barkhor StreetPotala Palace - one of the most famous architectural works of Tibet, first built in the 7th century and restored in the 17th. It has since then been the Winter Palace of the Dalai Lamas.
Jokhang Temple - 1300 year old monastery, where you can see Tibetan worshippers.
Barkhor Street - see local markets, full of spices, antiques and ethnic minorities' clothing. Many locals in this ancient city wear their traditional clothes.
Day 4Norbulingka, Sangmu VillageNorbulingka - located near a medical spring outside Lhasa, its construction started in 1751 and it was last renovated in 1956. These gardens were the host to the Dalai Lamas from March to September each year. Sangmu Village - see the Tibetan countryside and get in touch with the local rural Tiebtan lifestyle. Overnight at Lhasa. Day 5Xiagste, Yamdrotso Lake, Gyanste TownXiagste - Scenic drive to Xigatse along the Yarlung Tsangpo River. Yamdrotso Lake - third largest holy lake in Tibet. Gyantse town - tour of this ancient Tibetan town where the night will be spent. Day 6Baichoi Monastery, Dzong and ShiagatseBaichoi monastery, and Dzong (old fort) - view over the valley. Transfer from Gyantse to Shiagatse, stop on the way to visit Dashilhunpo Monastery. Overnight stay at Shiagatse. Day 7Shiagatse, tranfser to Base CampTour Shiagatse, preperation/shopping for the base camp. Transfer to base camp. Overnight stay at guesthouse near camp(stunning view of the night sky). Day 8Everest Base Camp visit. Rongpu monastery and Dingstria will be seen next. Overnight at Shiagatse.Day 9Transfer to Lhasa. Fly to Beijing.
